These people called my 18-year-old son while he was away at college told him he owed the IRS $4000 and that he was looking at possible jail time for tax fraud. They better hope I never get down to Texas!!!!

A voice with a very heavy accent left a voicemail on my cell phone. I beleive they may have been trying to pose as the IRS because part of the message said "if i don't hear from your attorney i wish you good luck" bizarre, but i've heard about these scams trying scare tactics. if they call again i might answer to see what he's claiming to be.

Left a message. Very threatening. Claimed to be Officer Eric Fluster and that I shouldn't disregard the message or not return the call. "If you don't return the call and I don't hear from your attorney either, then the only thing I can do is wish you good luck and when the situation ends badly, it falls on you."

This person claimed that I owe the IRS an excessive amount of money and he was an IRS agent. He stated that there is a warrant out for my arrest.

Said I had emergency with computer and must turn on asap. Asked how they knew I had problem and they said windows had sent them a message. Told her I did not do these things over phone and she gave number where I could call her back. Definitely a scam.

The caller identified himself as Windows Technical Support and told me I had a technical problem with Windows and he would fix it for me. When I told him I needed proof that he was who he said, he gave me a name, his employee number and a telephone number to call to check on him. When I "googled" his number, I was directed to this site. I've since been told that Microsoft DOES NOT call people.
