I got a phone call from each of these numbers today from the same person looking for someone. She would not say who she was and why she wqas calling (had mexican accent). She gave me the persons name and addrtess. This is not a good thing to do. When she called the third time I continued to ask her who she was, what company she was calling from and why she was calling, she said she was from the police department. The background noise from where she was calling from was deffinately not from a police department. When I told her I knew she was not calling from the police dept she said "how do you know, your name is xxx, you live in xxx city and your address is xxx. During all three phone calls I was unable to understand everything she was saying except the name of the person she was calling and the persons address and the police dept scam. The police dept does not have a problem identifying themselves. Neither do I when I know who and why someone is calling me and I do not know anyone that doesn't speak excellent english. There was constant interference coming thru the phone lines during these three conversations and the connection kept cutting in and out when ever I would ask her who she was and why she was calling. Convenientally, I would say. Trying to use scare tactics?? This is how the elderly/less fortunate, trusting, unsepecting people ripped off. The way she was telling me she was from the police department would cause someone to think someone close to them had been arrested/in an auto accident, possibly injured or killed, causing them to worry until everyone was accounted for. Not Right at all.
